Music Instructor

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive lesson plans tailored to students’ skill levels and interests, incorporating curriculum development best practices.
• Lead engaging music classes that cover instrumental performance, singing, music theory, and performance techniques.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and motivating learning environment.
• Teach students how to play musical instruments and develop their performance skills through structured practice sessions.
• Incorporate visual arts, choreography, theater experience, and other creative arts into lessons to foster well-rounded artistic growth.
• Guide students in preparing for performances, recitals, or showcases by teaching choreography and stage presence.
• Adapt teaching methods for diverse age groups including preschoolers, children, youth programs, and adults in both individual and group settings.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children and youth programs teaching arts or music-related subjects.
• Strong background in teaching visual & performing arts with expertise in choreography, dance instruction, or theater.
• Skilled in teaching musical instruments and instrumental performance across various styles.
• Experience developing curricula for creative arts instruction and lesson planning for different age groups.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies to support effective learning environments.
• Ability to work with students on photography, culinary arts (if applicable), or other creative disciplines as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
• Excellent classroom management skills combined with patience and enthusiasm for fostering artistic growth in learners of all levels.
