Matilda May Aesthetics is a premium medical aesthetics clinic based in Harpenden, providing advanced aesthetic, skin and beauty treatments in a professional, welcoming and client-focused environment.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Nail Technician to join our growing team on a part-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled nail professional to work within a premium clinic environment, delivering high-quality nail treatments and creating an exceptional experience for every client.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a range of professional nail treatments, including: Manicures, Gel manicures, BIAB / Builder Gel, BIAB infills and maintenance, Nail preparation and safe removal, Nail repairs, French manicures, Nail art and bespoke designs
• Carry out professional consultations to understand each client's requirements and recommend suitable treatments.
• Assess the condition of the natural nail and provide appropriate advice on treatment and aftercare.
• Deliver consistently high standards of treatment, with excellent attention to detail.
• Create clean, precise and long-lasting finishes.
• Provide clients with appropriate aftercare advice.
• Maintain accurate treatment records where required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic treatment area.
• Follow all clinic hygiene, health & safety and infection control procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sterilisation for tools and equipment.
• Build strong relationships with clients, encouraging repeat bookings and client loyalty.
• Contribute positively to the wider clinic team and uphold the professional reputation of Matilda May Aesthetics.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Nail Technician or in a similar professional beauty role.
• Relevant and applicable nail qualifications.
• Confident and experienced in BIAB / Builder Gel application, infills and maintenance.
• Strong nail preparation and removal skills, with a focus on protecting the natural nail.
• Confident creating nail art, including French and bespoke designs.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Professional, friendly and confident manner.
• Ability to work independently while also being a positive member of the wider team.
• Full right to work in the UK.

Highly Desirable

• Previous experience working within a professional salon, beauty clinic or aesthetics environment.
• Experience with gel extensions or other nail enhancement systems.
• Experience with detailed or bespoke nail art.
• Experience with current nail trends, including chrome, cat-eye, glazed and seasonal designs.
• A portfolio or examples of previous work.
• Existing client base – advantageous but not essential.
• Passion for keeping up to date with the latest nail techniques, products and trends.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is passionate about nails, takes genuine pride in their work and enjoys creating beautiful, high-quality results for their clients.

The successful candidate will be technically skilled, reliable and professional, with excellent attention to detail and a natural ability to build rapport with clients.

You should be confident working independently and take pride in maintaining high standards of hygiene, nail health and client care, while also enjoying being part of a friendly and growing team.

Salon experience would be desirable, but is not essential for the right candidate. We are particularly interested in someone who is confident with BIAB, enjoys nail art and is committed to providing an excellent client experience.

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
