About the Opportunity

Are you a talented nail technician with an entrepreneurial spirit, looking for more than just a regular salon job? This is an incredible opportunity to grow and build a successful nail salon business in partnership with us from the ground up!

We are expanding our destination space by opening a boutique nail salon right next to our popular café, Under the Trees, which is situated within the well-established Schaffler's Garden Nursery in Lyndhurst, Johannesburg. Our lush, tranquil environment brings a steady stream of relaxed clients looking for self-care and pampering.

We have a completely vacant shop space ready to be transformed. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on professional who doesn’t just excel at nails, but knows the industry inside out—someone who can advise on the exact salon fittings, finishes, and equipment needed, and knows where to source and purchase them.

Key Responsibilities

• Salon Setup & Procurement: Guide the fit-out process for our vacant space. You will specify the required nail stations, seating, lighting, ventilation, decor, and professional equipment, and handle the procurement and sourcing from trusted industry suppliers.
• Nail Services & Client Care: Deliver exceptional, high-quality nail treatments (manicures, pedicures, gel, acrylic, nail art, etc.) with a strong focus on hygiene and customer satisfaction.
• Business Growth: Collaborate with management to build the salon’s client base, market services to café and nursery visitors, and drive business growth.
• Day-to-Day Operations: Manage daily salon operations, stock control of products, and maintain a pristine, welcoming environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience as a qualified Nail Technician with a strong portfolio of work.
• Industry Know-How: Deep knowledge of professional salon equipment, furniture, sanitary standards, and top-tier product/hardware suppliers in South Africa.
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Passionate, driven, and excited about co-creating and growing a thriving salon brand in a unique venue.
• Availability: Able to work a 6-day week from Tuesday to Sunday, 08:00 to 17:00 (Mondays closed).
• Communication: Professional, friendly, and client-centric demeanor.
