Nannies and more…® International is seeking an experienced, engaging Professional Career Nanny / Family Assistant for a private family in San Francisco’s desirable Pacific Heights neighborhood.

This family is looking for one exceptional professional to fulfill the entire role, providing consistent childcare and thoughtful household support. They hope to welcome someone who will become a trusted, valued part of their household for years to come.

The position centers on two daughters, ages 7 and 5, who enjoy drawing, arts and crafts, imaginative play, fort building, sewing, and discovering new interests. The ideal candidate brings warmth, creativity, excellent judgment, and the initiative to keep busy family life running smoothly.

A minimum of five years of professional, full-time experience as a career nanny is required. Spanish fluency is strongly preferred; candidates fluent in Persian/Farsi are also encouraged to apply.

Position at a Glance

• Location: Pacific Heights, San Francisco, California
• Position: Full-time, long-term Nanny / Family Assistant
• Living arrangement: Live-out or live-in for the right candidate
• Compensation: $45 per hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, split shift
• Morning: 7:30 AM–10:30 AM
• Afternoon/evening: 3:30 PM–8:00 PM
• Guaranteed hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Start date: Open; to be agreed upon with the selected candidate
• Travel: Summers and school breaks in Newport Beach, California

Some flexibility with the exact schedule may be available for the right professional. Occasional later evenings for date nights and assistance with weekend events are requested; Saturday evening availability is a plus.

The home is a three-story residence with a friendly, senior cavapoo. A housekeeper/house manager is already in place, making communication and respectful collaboration with household staff essential.

Childcare & Enrichment

• Create a warm, nurturing environment that supports the girls’ confidence, independence, and development.
• Manage morning routines, including breakfast, dressing, hair care, and preparation for school. Braiding skills are a welcome bonus.
• Pack nutritious lunches and prepare clothing, water bottles, snacks, and supplies for daily activities.
• Provide punctual, safe transportation to and from school and extracurricular activities.
• Plan engaging activities, including arts and crafts, drawing, imaginative play, library outings, and age-appropriate learning.
• Encourage bilingual development through natural conversation, reading, and play.
• Prepare dinner, oversee mealtimes, and support evening routines, including baths, dental care, and bedtime preparation.

Family Assistance & Household Support

• Manage the children’s and parents’ laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away.
• Keep bedrooms, toys, and play areas tidy and organized.
• Maintain an orderly kitchen, including dishes, dishwasher care, and cleanup after meals.
• Prepare ingredients and meals; strong cooking skills or confidence following recipes are highly valued.
• Handle grocery shopping and family errands.
• Coordinate effectively with the housekeeper/house manager.
• Reset the home each evening so the family is prepared for the following morning.
• Anticipate needs and complete agreed-upon responsibilities with minimal direction.

Summers in Newport Beach

The family spends mid-June through the end of August in Newport Beach, along with school breaks and holidays.

Private casita accommodations are available during these stays. The girls attend day camps, and the anticipated work hours are shorter than during the school year. Willingness to accompany the family for summers and longer school breaks is strongly preferred.

Qualifications & Professional Standards

Qualified candidates must have:

• At least five years of professional, full-time experience as a career nanny, with excellent, verifiable references.
• A work history demonstrating reliability, commitment, and longevity.
• Experience caring for school-age children and balancing childcare with family assistance.
• A clear background check and clear driving record.
• Successful completion of Social Security verification.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
• A valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Confidence driving in San Francisco, including city traffic, hills, and parallel parking.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• A warm, professional presence and sound judgment.
• Comfort navigating a multi-story home and working around a small senior dog.
• A collaborative approach to working with parents and other household professionals.
• Flexibility for occasional evenings, weekend events, and agreed-upon travel.

Spanish fluency is strongly preferred. Persian/Farsi fluency is also welcomed. A background in early childhood development or education is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• $40–$45 per hour, with flexibility based on experience and qualifications
