What they need

Great Potentials Foundation is a charitable trust for the promotion of education and parental support, and we have been in existence for over 35 years.

We are in communities supporting them to unleash the potential of their children and young people at key transition points in their lives. We do this through life-changing programmes we develop, establish and manage, including HIPPY (Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters).

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a two-generational programme that, as well as setting children on a positive pathway through education, opens doors for parents into training, education and employment.

The role of National Advisor Programme is critical to the quality assurance, performance and support of the HIPPY programme. The position works within a team based in Auckland who train and support HIPPY staff in communities throughout New Zealand.

The National Advisor Programme role leads the management of HIPPY resources and curriculum. Experience as a teacher, particularly within Early Childhood Education, is essential.

Experience with interpreting data and evaluation methods are important as this role also leads programme reporting and accountability functions.

This role will also require overnight travel nationally to support local programme implementation and quality assurance.

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary level qualification in education.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the NGO or education sector, preferably with curriculum design experience.

  • Experience in teaching adults or children.

  • Empathy with working in vulnerable communities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High level problem-solving, judgement and decision-making skills.

  • A current driver's license and the ability to travel overnight within New Zealand.

  • A satisfactory Children's Act check.

What We Offer

  • We offer a supportive, professional and values-led work environment. You will work as part of a dedicated team committed to empowering parents to support their young tamariki in life-long learning.
  • Paid leave on your birthday and competitive salary are just some of the benefits of working for Great Potentials.
