National Credit Manager

As the National Credit Manager, you will oversee a team of four credit professionals. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in managing credit risk, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role requires a hands-on approach and a strategic mindset to balance risk with business growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate the credit control team (four direct reports);
• Assess the creditworthiness of customers, conducting thorough financial evaluations;
• Determine and manage customer credit limits to balance risk and sales opportunities;
• Oversee collections processes, including follow-ups on overdue accounts and negotiation of payment plans;
• Manage direct debit arrangements and monthly charge processes;
• Liaise with credit insurers and brokers to manage risk and reporting requirements;
• Monitor and analyse key credit metrics to improve processes and reduce overdue balances;
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices;
• Negotiate payment terms and credit agreements with customers.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience leading a credit control team in a fast-paced environment;
• Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and collections management;
• Experience with high-volume, low-margin B2B transactions is highly desirable;
• Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills;
• Proficiency in financial analysis and credit reporting;
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
