National Operations Manager

Fulton Swim School is looking for a National Operations Manager to help drive growth, strengthen operational consistency and support our Site Managers to succeed.

We teach swimming and water safety skills that make a lasting difference. As our business grows, this new leadership role will help ensure our sites deliver great lessons, positive customer experiences and strong business results.

The opportunity

Working closely with our General Manager and Site Managers, you will oversee operational performance across our sites. Based at our Pukekohe Support Office, you will travel regularly to spend time with managers and their teams, understand what is happening on the ground and help turn plans into results.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Driving site performance: Monitor KPIs, including enrolments, occupancy and retention, identify performance gaps and support managers to deliver measurable improvements.
• Coaching and developing managers: Build confident, capable leaders who take ownership of their sites and follow through on agreed actions.
• Managing accountability: Set clear expectations, address underperformance promptly and support managers to make sustained improvements.
• Strengthening operations: Ensure company processes are applied consistently, with effective rostering, staffing and day-to-day management.
• Maintaining quality: Support high teaching standards, safe operations and a welcoming, consistent customer experience.
• Supporting growth: Identify opportunities and help managers develop practical plans to attract and retain swimmers.

About you

You are comfortable working with both people and numbers. You can spot what performance information is telling you, ask the right questions and help a manager work out what needs to change.

You build strong relationships, give clear feedback and handle challenging conversations with care and confidence. You also know how to balance support with accountability.

We are looking for:

• Proven experience in operations or multi-site management.
• A track record of improving business performance against clear KPIs.
• Experience coaching managers or team leaders and addressing underperformance.
• Strong commercial awareness, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication and the ability to turn priorities into practical actions.
• A willingness and ability to travel regularly to our sites.

Experience in swim school operations, leisure, fitness or another service-based business would be valuable. We also welcome applicants from other sectors who bring strong operational leadership and people management experience.
