Natural Pool Apprentice – Pool & Pond Maintenance, Biological Filtration

Natural Swimming Pools LLC | Arizona
Job Type: Part-time to start, with potential for full-time employment as the business grows
Industry: Pool Service, Natural Swimming Pools, Pond Maintenance & Biological Filtration

Turn Your Passion for Water into a Career

Do you enjoy working outdoors, solving problems, and learning how water ecosystems work? Have you ever wondered how a swimming pool or pond can stay clean and clear without relying on chlorine, algaecides, and traditional chemical treatments?

Natural Swimming Pools LLC is looking for a motivated Natural Pool Apprentice to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to learn a specialized field that combines swimming pool maintenance, pond management, freshwater ecology, and innovative biological filtration technology.

We specialize in natural swimming pools and BioNova Natural Pools biological filtration systems. Our goal is to help homeowners, golf courses, HOAs, municipalities, and commercial property owners transition from conventional chemical treatments toward healthier, biologically filtered water systems.

We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in doing things right, and wants to learn a trade while helping grow a unique business.

This is more than a pool-cleaning job. It is an opportunity to learn a specialized trade and grow alongside a company building the future of natural swimming pools and biological water treatment.

What You'll DoPool & Pond Maintenance

  • Clean and maintain residential swimming pools and ponds on a recurring weekly schedule.
  • Skim, brush, vacuum, empty baskets, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Inspect pumps, filters, plumbing, and other equipment for problems.
  • Maintain both natural swimming pools and traditionally treated swimming pools.
  • Maintain ponds, fountains, and other water features.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and report maintenance issues or recommended repairs.
  • Work independently in the field as your knowledge and experience grow.

Learn Natural Swimming Pools & Biological Filtration

  • Learn how biological filtration works and how beneficial microorganisms help maintain water quality.
  • Assist with BioNova natural swimming pool systems and BioPool conversions.
  • Learn about limnology—the study of freshwater ecosystems—and the relationships between water chemistry, microorganisms, algae, nutrients, and water clarity.
  • Help convert conventional swimming pools into natural swimming pools by adding biological filtration systems.
  • Participate in new natural pool construction, system installations, and hands-on projects.
  • Learn how to maintain biological filtration systems and troubleshoot water quality issues.

Help Grow Our Business

We want someone who takes an interest in the business, not just the daily maintenance schedule.

During downtime between service calls, you may help us:

  • Network with homeowners, property managers, golf courses, HOAs, and commercial property owners.
  • Identify opportunities to maintain ponds, fountains, lakes, and other water features.
  • Help market our pool maintenance and natural pool services.
  • Build relationships that lead to recurring service accounts and larger projects.
  • Research and connect with potential customers who may benefit from biological filtration.
  • Support estimates, proposals, and customer education as you gain experience.

Our long-term goal is to build a dedicated pond and water feature division serving golf courses, HOAs, municipalities, and commercial properties. We want to help these customers explore biological filtration as an alternative to ongoing chemical treatments, potentially reducing chemical use and operating costs while maintaining healthy, attractive water features.

Develop a Career in Natural Water Management

As you develop your skills, there may be opportunities to learn:

  • Pool equipment diagnosis and repair.
  • Pump, filter, and plumbing troubleshooting.
  • Pool renovations and equipment upgrades.
  • Natural pool design and construction.
  • BioNova biological filtration installation and maintenance.
  • Pond and lake management.
  • Commercial project estimating and customer development.

We are willing to train the right person. You do not need previous experience with natural swimming pools or biological filtration.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is motivated, dependable, curious, and excited about learning how water systems work.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous pool maintenance or pool industry experience.
  • Ability to clean and maintain pools independently.
  • Basic knowledge of pool pumps, filters, and equipment.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in Arizona weather.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to network, market services, and help develop new accounts.
  • Interest in biology, freshwater ecosystems, sustainability, or environmental science.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a route, and solve problems.

A young or entry-level candidate with mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in water and the environment may be a great fit. We care more about the right attitude and willingness to learn than knowing everything on day one.

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Any driving requirements, insurance qualifications, and company vehicle arrangements will be discussed during the hiring process.

About Natural Swimming Pools LLC

Natural Swimming Pools LLC is an Arizona pool construction and water systems company specializing in natural swimming pools, BioNova biological filtration, pool conversions, and conventional pool services.

We also install fiberglass swimming pools and provide pool repairs, renovations, and maintenance.

Our vision is to expand beyond traditional pool service by bringing biological filtration to residential pools, decorative ponds, golf course feature ponds, HOA lakes, and other man-made water environments.

We believe understanding the biology of water can open new possibilities for how swimming pools and water features are designed, maintained, and enjoyed.

Compensation & Growth

  • Part-time position to start, with the potential to grow into full-time employment as our service accounts and projects increase.
  • Hands-on training in pool and pond maintenance, biological filtration, and natural swimming pool construction.
  • Opportunities to develop valuable technical skills in a specialized industry.
  • Potential to take on greater responsibility as the business grows.
  • Opportunity to contribute to business development and the growth of our natural pool and commercial water feature divisions.

We want to find someone who can grow with us. As the business expands, the right individual may have opportunities to develop into a lead technician, natural pool specialist, or a larger role in service operations and business development.

How to Apply

Tell us a little about yourself:

  • What experience do you have with pools, ponds, landscaping, mechanical systems, or outdoor work?
  • What interests you about natural swimming pools and biological filtration?
  • Are you looking for a part-time opportunity that could grow into a full-time career?
  • What excites you about learning a specialized trade and helping grow a business?
