Our client is seeking an exceptional Naval Architect to join their team based in NSW.

The client is a frontrunner in the Maritime space, where they provide engineering support to the Australian Defence sector.

The Naval Architect will be responsible for undertaking technical investigations, delivering technical reports and working within a multi-disciplined engineering team.

The role:

* Provide a high level of engineering technical competence based on relevant experience and knowledge.

* Provide experience and technical knowledge of functional and detailed design related to Naval Architecture and Outfitting.

* Undertake technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution identification.

* Deliver technical reports and technical documentation in accordance with customer standards.

* Work effectively within the broader Engineering Team to engage with different engineering disciplines in the development of new naval ship system designs.

* Plan and coordinate assigned engineering projects from concept through to delivery, including the development of project plans, schedule and engagement of internal and external stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE

* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

* Familiarity with Naval Architecture, Marine platform Designs, Outfitting engineering.

* Familiarity with fundamental structural analysis concepts.

* High level of skill in Standard Computing Packages.

* Ability to understand and apply relevant Australian Standards, Classification Society and IMO requirements.

* Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages.

* Capacity to provide technical assessment based on engineering calculations.

Candidates must have experience working alongside Defence engineering teams. This role requires candidates who will take a pragmatic approach, have a problem solving ability and a good communication style both with internal and external stakeholders.
