The position will work closely with engineering disciplines, designers, clients, and project teams to develop vessel designs, calculations, technical drawings, and engineering documentation throughout all phases of a project.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for marine vessels and floating structures.
  • Perform vessel stability, weight, balance, buoyancy, displacement, and hydrostatic analyses.
  • Evaluate vessel loading conditions and weight distribution to ensure appropriate trim, draft, and stability.

  • Strong understanding of vessel stability and balance, weight distribution and weight control, hydrostatics and buoyancy, vessel geometry and hull forms, marine structural design, and vessel arrangements and layouts.
  • Experience preparing and/or reviewing engineering calculations and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with applicable marine classification and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with relevant naval architecture, engineering, and CAD/design software.
