NCT Engineering Manager

About the role

The NCT Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the engineering, programming, tooling, process development, and technical support activities for NCT machines and sheet-metal manufacturing processes. The role ensures efficient machine utilization, accurate production programs, high product quality, cost effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the NCT engineering and programming team
• Develop and optimize NCT/CNC programs based on engineering drawings and production requirements
• Review drawings, specifications, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing requirements
• Determine appropriate machine sequence, tooling, nesting, cutting parameters, and processing methods
• Optimize material utilization and reduce sheet-metal scrap
• Develop and maintain standardized NCT programming and manufacturing processes
• Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Planning, Tooling, and Maintenance teams
• Provide technical support for NCT machine-related production issues
• Troubleshoot programming, tooling, machine, and process problems
• Review and approve engineering changes and process modifications

About you

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
• Typically 8–12 years of experience in sheet-metal manufacturing, CNC/NCT programming, production engineering, or manufacturing engineering
• Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory/managerial experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of NCT/CNC punching and sheet-metal manufacturing processes
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
• Strong knowledge of tooling, material selection, nesting, and production processes
• NCT/CNC programming expertise
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and AutoCAD or similar CAD systems
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies
• Root-cause analysis and continuous improvement capabilities
