What they need

About the role

We are seeking casual Support Workers across metropolitan Melbourne, including the northern, eastern, south eastern and western suburbs. Our participants live with a range of psychosocial, physical, neurological and intellectual disabilities, with supports ranging from community access to personal care and higher intensity in-home support. Many have small, consistent support teams, so you will often work regular shifts with the same people.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred, trauma-informed support to participants living with a range of disabilities
  • Assist with personal care, including showering, toileting and continence support
  • Support with manual handling, transfers and hoist use
  • Assist with medication in line with MHC procedures
  • Support community access, appointments, social activities and shared interests
  • Assist with meal preparation, household tasks and daily living skills
  • Support participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern
  • Follow behaviour support, risk management and safety plans
  • Maintain accurate shift notes and incident reports
  • Work collaboratively with participants, families and the MHC team

About you

  • Experience in disability or mental health support
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic, non-judgmental approach
  • Ability to follow support, risk management and safety plans
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR certificates
  • National Police Check and the right to work in Australia
  • Valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance

About us

Moreland Home Care is an established, family-run, registered NDIS provider based in Melbourne. We support people living with disability and mental health conditions to achieve their goals through a person-centred, strengths-based approach. We tailor each participant's supports to fit with their lifestyle, so the help we provide is effective, responsive and genuinely meaningful.

Benefits

  • Competitive casual pay in line with the SCHADS Award
  • Regular participants close to where you live
  • Small, consistent teams rather than random one-off shifts
  • Supportive, experienced management and a genuine team environment
  • Quality training, induction and ongoing professional development
  • Flexible shifts to suit your availability, including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends
  • Real career development as our organisation grows
