Turkish Speaking NDIS Support Worker in Clarinda

Location: Clarinda, VIC
Hours: Every Monday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, initially 6 hours per week.

Saturday shifts may also be available if things go well. Hours can be agreed on to suit you and the participant.

Nursing background: Highly regarded, but not essential

About the Role

Nusol is seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced Turkish-speaking Support Worker to support one NDIS participant who is bedbound in their home in Clarinda.

This position currently involves supporting one participant only. We are looking for someone who can provide consistent, respectful care and build a trusting relationship with the participant and their family.

You will assist the participant with their daily care needs, comfort and wellbeing, while respecting their dignity, privacy and choices.

Confident spoken Turkish is essential to communicate with the participant and understand their needs and preferences. A nursing background or experience supporting people who are bedbound would be highly regarded.

You must be available every Monday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will reflect the participant’s assessed needs and individual support plan and may include:

• Providing personal care, including bed bathing, grooming, dressing and continence care.
• Assisting with repositioning and pressure care according to the participant’s care and manual handling plans.
• Using prescribed equipment safely, within your training and with the required staff assistance.
• Assisting with meal preparation, eating and drinking, following any prescribed mealtime management plan.
• Assisting with changing bed linen, laundry and light household tasks related to the participant’s care.
• Providing companionship and communicating in Turkish to support the participant’s comfort and engagement.
• Observing and promptly reporting changes in the participant’s wellbeing or support needs.
• Maintaining accurate progress notes, shift records and incident reports.
• Working respectfully with the participant, family, support coordinator and healthcare professionals.
• Maintaining confidentiality, professional boundaries and participant choice and control.

All tasks must be completed within your training, competency and the participant’s support plan. Any task requiring two workers must only be completed with the required second worker present.

About You

You are patient, attentive and dependable, with a genuine commitment to supporting people with disabilities. You understand the importance of gentle, respectful care and can respond calmly to the participant’s needs.

Essential Requirements

• Confident spoken Turkish.
• Consistent availability every Monday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
• Experience as a Support Worker, including personal care.
• Ability to follow individual care plans and safe manual handling procedures.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to complete clear written progress notes.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current National Police Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Current Working with Children Check
• Australian working rights.
• Reliable transport to the participant’s home in Clarinda.
• Punctuality, reliability and professional conduct.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Nursing qualifications or previous nursing experience.
• Experience supporting people who are bedbound or have significant physical support needs.
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or a related field.
• Relevant training in manual handling, positioning, pressure care and continence care.
• Experience following mealtime management plans.
