Disability Support Workers – Complex Care (PEG/GJ Feeding)

Shifts: Monday to Sunday, including active overnights

Start: Immediate, subject to onboarding

About the Role

We are seeking experienced, compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to support a young child with complex medical and developmental disabilities, including Autism Level 3, Global Developmental Delay, non-verbal communication and GJ/PEG tube feeding requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* PEG/GJ tube feeding and feeding pump management

* Medication administration as per care plans

* Personal care, hygiene and continence support

* Supporting non-verbal communication and AAC devices

* Autism, behaviour support and sensory regulation

* Mobility assistance and safe manual handling

* Monitoring medical needs and responding to emergencies

* Community access and therapy appointments

* Following clinical care plans and maintaining progress notes

Essential Requirements

* Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent

* NDIS Worker Screening Check

* Working With Children Check (WWCC)

* First Aid and CPR

* National Police Check

* Manual Handling Training

* Infection Control Training

* Driver’s licence and reliable transport

* Experience supporting children with complex disabilities

Specialised Training Required

Applicants must have or be willing to complete:

* PEG/GJ tube feeding and Home Enteral Nutrition (HEN) training

* Feeding pump operation and monitoring

* Medication administration, including via feeding tubes

* Seizure management and emergency response

* AAC/Liberator communication device training

* Autism Level 3 and positive behaviour support

* Sensory regulation strategies

* High-intensity support and participant-specific clinical competency assessments

PEG/GJ feeding experience is highly desirable. Workers must be assessed as competent before independently performing specialised clinical procedures.

Available Shifts

* Day: From 7:00 am (minimum 7 hours)

* Evening: 8:00 pm – 12:00 am

* Active overnight: 12:00 am – 6:00 am

* Weekend and public holiday shifts available
