Make a Real Impact Every Day!

Are you passionate about helping people live independently and with dignity? Do you want a job that’s rewarding, flexible, and offers great pay? At Decent Care we’re looking for dedicated disability support workers who will deliver high-quality, person-centered care and make a meaningful difference.

Before you apply, please read this carefully.

This role requires you to travel across the Mornington Peninsula, Frankston, Cranbourne, St Kilda, and Windsor regions; be genuinely flexible with shift types, including mornings, evenings, overnights, and weekends; and commit to providing consistent, ongoing support to the same participants over time. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide personal care: assist with showering, dressing, toileting, medication support, and mobility.
  • Daily living support: meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and household tasks.
  • Community engagement: accompany participants to social outings, shopping, GP visits, and recreational activities.
  • SIL & overnight support: work in SIL residences and undertake sleepover/overnight duties (both passive and active where required).
  • Skill development & therapy support: assist with implementing occupational, speech, and behavioral therapy strategies under professional guidance.
  • Safety & wellbeing: monitor and report on participant progress, incidents, and health concerns; uphold privacy, dignity, and independence.

What’s in It for You?

  • 🌟 Competitive hourly rate based on your experience and qualifications (penalty rates for nights/weekends/public holidays).
  • SCHADS Award Pay Level 1.1 for entry level (with progression for further experience).
  • Industry-leading training: full induction, ongoing upskilling, and access to health professionals.
  • Flexible work arrangements: choose shifts that suit your lifestyle across SIL, overnight, and community support roles.
  • Ongoing support & career development: we invest in your future.
  • Meaningful work: be part of a team committed to empowering people with disabilities and living our value of “choice, respect, independence.”

Who We’re Looking For

  • A compassionate and reliable individual who genuinely cares about making a difference.
  • Flexible and adaptable: available for a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
  • A strong communicator: you build good relationships with participants, their families, and your team.
  • Committed to high-quality care: you respect dignity, choice, and independence for each person you support.
  • Driver’s license & reliable transport desirable (for community outings, travel between service sites).
  • Willingness to travel across the Mornington Peninsula/Frankston/Cranbourne region.

Essential Requirements (or Willing to Obtain)

  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Valid Australian driver’s license & reliable transport (desirable).
  • Smartphone (iOS 13+ or Android 6+) for rostering and reporting.
  • Willingness to obtain First Aid & CPR certification if not already held.
  • Certificate III/IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent is preferred—but not strictly required if you bring the right attitude and willingness to learn.
