NDT Level II – Radiography Technician (RT)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced NDT Level II Radiography Technician to join a growing manufacturing operation supporting high-quality aluminum castings.

This position will perform both film and non-film radiographic inspection, evaluate results according to applicable specifications, and make accept/reject decisions on inspected components.

This is an excellent opportunity for an NDT professional with strong RT experience who is looking for a long-term position where their technical knowledge and certifications are valued.

What You'll Do

• Perform radiographic testing on aluminum castings
• Set up and operate X-ray equipment
• Perform both film and digital/non-film radiography
• Set up and inspect castings using DDA radiography equipment and techniques
• Select appropriate film, exposure distance, exposure time and inspection techniques
• Perform required equipment checks and calibrations
• Interpret radiographic images and identify defects/discontinuities
• Evaluate inspection results against applicable procedures, customer requirements and industry specifications
• Make appropriate accept/reject decisions
• Document and report inspection results
• Maintain radiation safety requirements and monitor work areas
• Assist with training and guidance of Level I technicians and trainees

The position specifically includes film processing, DDA inspection, calibration, discontinuity investigation and accept/reject decisions.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• NDT Level II Film Radiography (RT) certification
• Minimum 40 hours of formal RT training
• Approximately 1,200 hours of Level I radiographic experience
• Ability to independently perform radiographic inspections
• Ability to interpret and evaluate radiographic results
• Strong understanding of radiation safety practices

Preferred:

• Level II CR or DR certification
• Texas Radiation Safety Card
• Experience performing RT on aerospace castings
• Experience with aluminum castings
• Experience with film, CR and/or DDA radiography systems

These qualifications reflect the requirements and preferences in the provided job description.

Equipment Experience That Is a Plus

Experience with equipment such as Comet X-ray systems, Waygate film processors, Fuji DynamIx CR systems, DDA systems, densitometers, film viewers and related radiographic inspection equipment is highly valuable.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing position that requires time on the production floor. Candidates should be comfortable working around industrial equipment and wearing required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toe footwear.
