Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced .NET Consultant to support and enhance a legacy file transfer application used for secure data exchange. The successful candidate will focus on application modernization, component upgrades, and reducing technical debt, improving the stability and maintainability of a business-critical system.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with .NET Framework and messaging systems, solid Linux and scripting skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and enhance the existing file transfer application.
• Modernize the application and upgrade outdated components.
• Reduce technical debt and improve code quality, performance, and reliability.
• Work with MQ (Message Queue) for message-based data exchange.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and operational tasks on Linux.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and environment issues.
• Work independently and communicate progress, risks, and dependencies clearly.
• Document changes, configurations, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience as a .NET developer or consultant.
• Strong hands-on experience with .NET Framework.
• Experience with MQ (Message Queue).
• Good working knowledge of Linux.
• Shell scripting experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with legacy application modernization or migration.
• Familiarity with secure file transfer or data exchange solutions.
• Experience reducing technical debt in long-lived systems.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be available to work in France.
• Must have valid work authorisation for France.
• Ability to work independently in a consulting environment.
• Immediate or short-notice availability would be advantageous.
