.NET Software Development Lead - Wealth experience

We are seeking an experienced .NET Software Development Lead to lead the design, development and delivery of technology solutions within a complex Wealth Management environment.

This role combines technical leadership, hands-on software engineering and team leadership . The successful candidate will have a strong Microsoft/.NET background together with previous experience delivering technology within Wealth Management, Investment Management or a closely related financial-services environment .

You will play a key role in modernising platforms, improving engineering practices and delivering scalable technology supporting investment and wealth-management operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of enterprise applications using .NET / C# and the Microsoft technology stack .
• Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of software engineers.
• Remain hands-on where required across architecture, design, development and code reviews.
• Take ownership of technical design and engineering standards across key Wealth Management applications.
• Work closely with Product, Architecture, Business Analysis, QA and senior technology stakeholders.
• Translate complex Wealth Management business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Lead the modernisation of legacy applications and migration towards modern cloud-based architectures.
• Drive engineering best practices across coding standards, automated testing, CI/CD, DevOps and software quality.
• Design and develop APIs and integrations between Wealth Management platforms and third-party systems.
• Support complex data and system integrations across front, middle and back-office environments.
• Ensure applications meet appropriate standards for security, resilience, performance and scalability.
• Mentor and develop software engineers and create a strong engineering culture.
• Support technology strategy and contribute to longer-term platform and architecture roadmaps.

Experience

• Strong commercial software development experience using C# and .NET .
• Previous experience operating as a Development Lead, Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, Lead Developer or similar .
• Wealth Management experience is essential , ideally gained within a wealth manager, investment platform, private bank, asset manager or financial technology provider.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering principles and enterprise application development.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and system integrations.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience with modern cloud environments, ideally Microsoft Azure .
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and application design patterns.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing software engineers.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
