.NET Software Engineer

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Software Engineer to support a large-scale healthcare document and payments platform. This position focuses on hands-on C#/.NET development, maintaining and enhancing enterprise applications, building APIs, and supporting complex SQL Server environments.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working across both modern and legacy .NET technologies, troubleshooting complex backend systems, and delivering reliable solutions within an established enterprise codebase.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C# applications using .NET Framework 4.8 and .NET Core .
• Build, enhance, and troubleshoot ASP.NET applications, Web APIs, WCF services, and IIS-hosted solutions.
• Write and optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, database schemas, and data-processing logic.
• Develop and maintain background processing jobs, integrations, and multithreaded applications.
• Troubleshoot issues across application, API, database, and file-processing layers.
• Support applications operating within AWS environments.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, Git-based development, and production support.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver enhancements to healthcare document and payment-processing systems.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional C#/.NET development experience, with strong hands-on coding ability.
• Experience with .NET Framework and .NET Core .
• Strong SQL Server skills, including stored procedures, database design, queries, and performance optimization.
• Experience with ASP.NET, Web API, and IIS-hosted applications.
• Experience working within AWS environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex backend application logic and work effectively in established enterprise codebases.
• Familiarity with Git, Visual Studio, unit testing, and collaborative development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with WCF, WinForms, Windows Services, or multithreaded C# applications.
• Healthcare, insurance, payments, claims, or document-processing experience.
• Experience with background jobs, data migrations, and SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT).
• Familiarity with EDI/X12, EOB/EOP, or other healthcare financial workflows.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications with complex integrations and production dependencies.

Location

Remote within the United States, with preference for candidates near Boston, MA; St. Louis, MO; Tampa, FL; or Newark, NJ .

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Interview Process

The interview process includes a technical discussion and a practical programming/design exercise focused on C#, .NET, backend application logic, and SQL Server.
