What they need
We are currently assisting a highly respected and rapidly growing electrical engineering and power systems services company in identifying NETA-certified Field Service Technicians (Level II, III, or IV) to join their expanding field services team. This organization has built a strong reputation in the industry for technical excellence, a strong safety culture, and continued investment in both its people and infrastructure as it grows nationwide.
Technicians in this role travel to industrial and commercial customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and assist with commissioning of low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems (480V–600kV). Candidates must be comfortable working in the field and traveling at least 50% of the time, including availability for project assignments in Atlanta, GA and Nashville, TN when needed. Per diem is provided during travel assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning support for low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, relays, and cable systems in accordance with NETA standards.
- Conduct electrical testing such as transformer testing (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance), cable testing (VLF, Tan Delta, DC Hipot), relay testing and calibration, and other power system diagnostics.
- Test and troubleshoot automatic transfer switches, protective relays (electromechanical and solid-state), and power distribution equipment.
- Collect and document test data and prepare reports using industry software tools (PowerDB experience is a plus).
- Participate in a rotating emergency on-call schedule and respond to customer electrical system issues when required.
- Maintain strict adherence to electrical safety standards and procedures while working in energized or high-voltage environments.
Requirements
- Current NETA Certification (Level II, III, or IV) required.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience performing electrical power system testing, including switchgear testing and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution equipment and protective relay systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel 50% or more, including project travel to Atlanta, GA and Nashville, TN.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to maintain a good driving record.
- Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in physically demanding field environments.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
This is a strong opportunity to join a growth-focused organization with a strong reputation in the power systems industry, work on large-scale electrical infrastructure projects, and continue advancing your career within the power systems testing field.
