  • Calculate and process broker commissions accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including the preparation and processing of accruals and prepayments.
  • Prepare and complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances as required.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and records to support internal reporting and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Controller and wider finance team to support daily accounting operations and reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with statutory audits by providing relevant financial information and supporting documentation.
  • Undertake ad hoc accounting and finance-related tasks as required.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Daily bank reconciliations are completed accurately and within the required timeframe.
  • Accounts payable transactions are processed accurately, with payments made on time.
  • Month-end reporting activities and financial results are finalised accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately, with discrepancies identified and addressed promptly.
  • Agreed performance objectives and other finance team deliverables are achieved.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • A recognised accounting qualification, such as CA, CPA, or an equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to work confidently with financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial processing and reporting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work across multiple systems and manage a diverse range of accounting processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when investigating discrepancies and reconciling financial accounts.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Experience using Oracle NetSuite or a similar accounting or enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
  • Experience in accounts payable, bank reconciliations, month-end reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
