NetSuite Developer | SuiteScript 2.1 | Hybrid Working

Are you a hands-on NetSuite Developer who enjoys building high-quality solutions, solving complex technical challenges and finding smarter ways to develop software?

I'm working with an established ERP solutions business looking to strengthen its technical team with an experienced NetSuite Developer. This is an opportunity to work across product development, customisation and customer integrations, helping to build and enhance solutions that support real-world business operations.

The role combines technical development with problem-solving, collaboration and the opportunity to explore how modern AI tools can improve the development process.

What they're looking for

The following experience is particularly important for this position:

• Strong hands-on NetSuite development experience , with particular expertise in SuiteScript 2.x/2.1 and JavaScript.
• Practical experience with SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF) , Git/source control, sandbox testing and controlled deployments.
• Solid NetSuite integration experience , including RESTlets, SuiteTalk REST APIs, authentication, data mapping and error handling.
• Working knowledge of modern AI development tools , with the ability to use them productively while reviewing, testing and validating generated code.
• A proactive, independent approach to problem-solving , with the confidence to investigate complex issues and communicate clearly with technical colleagues and customers.
• Recognised NetSuite developer accreditation or certification is desirable but not essential , demonstrating your technical capability within the NetSuite ecosystem.

The role

You'll take ownership of developing and enhancing NetSuite customisations and products, working with SuiteScript 2.1 and JavaScript to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing NetSuite scripts, customisations and integrations, including Client, User Event, Suitelet and Map/Reduce scripts.
• Working with consultants and customers to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Building and maintaining RESTlet and SuiteTalk REST integrations.
• Using SDF and source control to manage development, testing and controlled releases.
• Debugging and optimising scripts, managing governance limits and ensuring performance and reliability.
• Participating in code reviews, maintaining technical documentation and identifying improvements to development processes.
• Exploring AI-assisted development and testing, ensuring generated code is reliable, secure and fit for purpose.

Experience and skills

You'll ideally bring 3–5 years of relevant NetSuite development experience, alongside a strong understanding of NetSuite records, custom fields, SuiteFlow, saved searches and SuiteQL.

Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and developing reusable NetSuite products or SuiteApps would also be beneficial.

Just as importantly, you'll be comfortable working independently, taking responsibility for your work and collaborating with others to deliver quality solutions.
