NetSuite Suite Projects Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Contract NetSuite Consultant with strong SuiteProjects expertise to support the optimisation, configuration and delivery of NetSuite solutions, with a particular focus on project management, project accounting and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience implementing, configuring and supporting NetSuite SuiteProjects, ensuring the system effectively supports project delivery, resource management, time and expense tracking, project costing, billing and financial visibility.

This role will work closely with finance, project management and operational stakeholders to understand business requirements, resolve system issues and deliver practical improvements to the existing NetSuite environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain and optimise NetSuite SuiteProjects functionality.
• Review existing project workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and reporting.
• Support project accounting processes, including project costing, revenue recognition, billing and profitability reporting.
• Configure and manage project records, project budgets, tasks, milestones, resources and project structures.
• Support time and expense management processes, including approvals, allocations and project cost tracking.
• Ensure effective integration between SuiteProjects and core NetSuite financial modules, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and project billing.
• Develop and enhance saved searches, reports, dashboards and KPIs to provide improved visibility of project performance and financial results.
• Troubleshoot system issues, investigate data discrepancies and implement appropriate solutions.
• Work with finance and project teams to gather requirements, document processes and translate business needs into system configurations.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT), system changes, training and knowledge transfer.
• Provide recommendations on NetSuite best practices, system optimisation and opportunities to improve project and financial controls.

Required Experience and Skills

• Proven experience working as a NetSuite Consultant, Systems Analyst or NetSuite Administrator.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience with NetSuite SuiteProjects (formerly OpenAir-related or project management functionality, where applicable).
• Strong understanding of project accounting, project costing, time and expense management, project billing and financial reporting.
• Experience configuring NetSuite workflows, custom fields, forms, saved searches and reports.
• Good understanding of NetSuite financial processes and the relationship between projects and the general ledger.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional system solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and deliver practical improvements.
• Confident working with finance, project management and technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a contract environment and deliver against agreed timelines.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with SuiteProjects implementations, enhancements or system migrations.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition and project revenue accounting.
• Experience with SuiteBilling, Advanced Revenue Management or related NetSuite modules.
• Familiarity with SuiteScript, SuiteFlow or other NetSuite customisation tools.
• Experience with NetSuite integrations and data migration.
• NetSuite certifications or relevant implementation experience.
