Job Title: Network Administrator

Location: Allen, TX (multi-campus)

Job Type: 2 to 3 Contract or 3-month Contract to Hire

Pay Rate: $50/hour W2; conversions salary $65K to $80K depending on experience

Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours, with occasional early-morning or weekend work during outages

Background: Must pass a satisfactory standard criminal background check upon hire.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, ongoing basis without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

About the Role

GTS Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Network & Systems Administrator to support one of our clients, a public school district in North Texas, with hands-on, day-to-day network support across multiple campuses.

This is an outward-facing role: you will work directly with teachers, principals, and campus staff, not just in a server closet, so a calm and patient communication style matters as much as technical depth.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily network support across multiple campus locations, including switch, wireless, and connectivity troubleshooting
• Administer and maintain HPE Aruba LAN/WAN infrastructure
• Manage and support Active Directory
• Support Linux servers (Debian/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments
• Troubleshoot network-dependent systems, including badge and door access
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support to campus-level technicians
• Coordinate network installations, upgrades, and technology projects
• Maintain documentation for network configurations, systems, and procedures
• Deliver responsive, professional support directly to teachers and administrators on campus

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems, or equivalent experience in network and server administration
• 5+ years of network administration or network engineering experience
• Hands-on HPE Aruba experience (switches, wireless controllers)
• Active Directory administration experience
• Comfort with Linux server environments (Debian or Ubuntu)
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with non-technical end users
• Reliable transportation for multi-campus travel
• K-12 or educational environment experience preferred, not required

Preferred

• CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+, CompTIA Sec+, or comparable certifications recommended
