PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING: This is a Software-Defined Storage (SDS) architecture role, not a SAN/NAS storage administration role. Applications without hands-on CEPH or open-source SDS implementation experience will not be shortlisted.

Position: Storage & SDS Architect

Band: F (TSU) | Salary: 21.5 - 35.4 LPA

Location: UIDAI Technology Centre, Bengaluru (On-site). Candidates from outside Bengaluru willing to relocate are welcome to apply.

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS

You must have personally designed, implemented and operated an open-source Software-Defined Storage platform in production. CEPH strongly preferred. Please state the platform, cluster scale and your specific role in your CV.

Hands-on CEPH design experience covering pool design, data path optimisation, failure domain planning and performance tuning.

Working knowledge of Calico (container networking) - mandatory.

Working knowledge of Linux - mandatory.

Minimum 10+ years in network/security implementation and/or management.

Experience architecting on-premises, cloud and hybrid storage environments.

Experience designing WAN and backbone network architectures (BGP, OSPF, MPLS).

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

BE / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA or equivalent. Post-graduation in Technology preferred.

Network/Security certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE desirable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead architecture, design, implementation and maintenance of Network and Software Defined Storage (SDS) platforms.

Manage and implement open-source Software Defined Storage solutions (CEPH preferred).

Architect on-premises, cloud and hybrid storage solutions.

Architect and oversee storage and backup solutions across EMC, HP, NetApp, Azure, AWS and CEPH technologies.

Design WAN and backbone network architectures (BGP, OSPF, MPLS etc.).

Lead private, public and hybrid cloud storage solution design and deployment.

Drive data migration and transformation programmes, including cloud-based storage transitions.

Ensure operability, reliability, security, performance and sustainability of infrastructure platforms.

Manage dependencies, risks and stakeholder coordination for infrastructure change initiatives.

Oversee backup products and Virtual Tape Libraries (VTLs).

Ensure governance compliance with architecture frameworks and artefacts.

Collaborate with network, compute, monitoring and security teams for integrated solution delivery.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Software-Defined Storage (SDS) and CEPH - pool design, data path optimisation, failure domain planning, performance tuning.

End-to-end storage architectures across Object, Block and File.

Distributed storage systems, high-availability clusters, multi-site resilience models and replication strategies.

Multi-datacentre and mission-critical infrastructure environments.

High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) for storage solutions.

Container networks (Calico) and hybrid cloud connectivity.

Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and capacity planning.

Storage platform transitions and data migration programmes.

Strong understanding of storage and backup technologies - CEPH, NetApp, HP, Azure, AWS, GCP (experience in at least two).

Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols.

Information security requirements for storage solutions.

Knowledge of architecture frameworks and governance models.

Familiarity with open-source products and operating systems.

Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
