Network & Systems Administrator

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The Network and Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, securing, and optimizing the organization's network infrastructure, servers, systems, and IT environments to ensure operational stability, performance, security, and business continuity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network infrastructures.
• Configure, deploy, and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and related technologies.
• Monitor network performance and availability.
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve network incidents.
• Maintain network documentation and standards.

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT

• Administer servers, operating systems, enterprise applications, virtualization platforms, and cloud environments.
• Monitor system health and infrastructure performance.
• Manage configurations, deployments, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Support virtualization and cloud environments.
• Maintain IT infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency.

IT SECURITY, RISK MANAGEMENT, AND COMPLIANCE

• Implement cybersecurity controls including firewalls, VPNs, and authentication systems.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and patch management.
• Enforce information security policies and compliance standards.
• Monitor security events and investigate incidents.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND SERVICE MANAGEMENT

• Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, and infrastructure concerns.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement solutions.
• Support end users through training, guidance, and documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for escalated concerns.
• Maintain service quality and continuous improvement.

BACKUP, RECOVERY, AND BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT

• Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures.
• Perform backup validation and recovery testing.
• Maintain business continuity documentation.
• Evaluate continuity risks and recommend improvements.

VENDOR MANAGEMENT, PROJECT SUPPORT, AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

• Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and service providers.
• Support infrastructure projects and technology implementations.
• Participate in procurement planning and budgeting activities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in Network Administration, Systems Administration, or Infrastructure Support.
• Strong knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, servers, and cloud technologies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
