Network Architect,  Home-based with client travel

We are looking for an experienced, customer-focused Network Architect with strong Juniper expertise to join our Professional Services team.

This is an opportunity to lead the design and delivery of enterprise networking solutions built around Juniper Networks and Juniper Mist, spanning campus LAN, switching, routing and wireless technologies.

You’ll take ownership of high-level and low-level designs, provide architectural leadership and work directly with customers to deliver secure, scalable and resilient network solutions. From technical discovery and solution design through to implementation and operational handover, you’ll play a key role in delivering successful customer outcomes.

Working across Professional Services, Pre-Sales and Operations, you’ll also support bids and customer engagements, lead technical workshops and help drive best practice across Roc’s Juniper-led networking projects.

 Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design and delivery of enterprise networking solutions centred on Juniper technologies.
• Produce high-level and low-level designs for campus LAN, switching, routing and wireless environments.
• Design Juniper Mist solutions, including cloud-managed networking, wireless and network assurance.
• Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, resilient and supportable technical architectures.
• Lead customer workshops, technical discovery sessions and design reviews.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to engineers, stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from discovery and design through to implementation, testing and operational handover.
• Support pre-sales activity, tenders, technical proposals and solution design.
• Collaborate with project delivery, service management, operations and external partners to ensure successful outcomes.
• Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies and opportunities for automation and operational improvement.

 Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience designing and delivering Juniper-based enterprise networking solutions.
• Strong knowledge of campus LAN, switching, routing and enterprise wireless.
• Experience with Juniper EX/QFX switching and/or Juniper Mist technologies.
• Experience leading complex networking projects or transformation programmes.
• Understanding of network security, authentication, NAC and core network services.
• Experience producing HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans and test strategies.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into practical network architectures.
• Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience delivering projects from initial discovery through to implementation and service transition.

 Technical Expertise

• Juniper Networks: Campus switching, routing and enterprise network architecture.
• Juniper Mist: Wireless LAN, cloud-managed networking, Wired Assurance and Wireless Assurance.
• Enterprise Networking: LAN, IP routing, resilience and core networking protocols.
• NAC & Identity: Network authentication, access policies and NAC integration.
• DDI: DNS, DHCP, IP addressing and platforms such as Infoblox.
• Automation & Management: Network monitoring, automation, configuration management and operational tooling.
• Security: Network segmentation, firewalls and security integration.
• Multi-vendor Environments: Experience integrating Juniper solutions with HPE and other enterprise technologies.

Desirable Experience

• Juniper Networks or Mist certifications.
• Experience with Juniper SRX security platforms or Juniper routing technologies.
• Familiarity with NAC platforms such as Aruba ClearPass or Cisco ISE.
• Firewall experience with Fortinet or Check Point.
• Knowledge of APIs, scripting, network automation and infrastructure as code.
• Professional services, consultancy or customer-facing solution architecture experience.
• Pre-sales, bid support and technical solution development.
