Network Engineer (6-month contract)

Responsibilities:

1. Tier 1 Daily Operation & Support

·       Provide daily network monitoring, routine health check and alert handling for LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi and enterprise network infrastructure.

·       Conduct preliminary troubleshooting for basic network issues including link down, packet loss, slow network access and user connectivity problems.

·       Log incidents, perform basic diagnosis, escalate unresolved critical and complex issues to Tier 2 engineers with clear problem summary and status update.

·       Assist daily backup of device configuration, simple network restart and routine maintenance tasks to ensure stable network operation.

2. Tier 2 Advanced Troubleshooting & Administration

·       Resolve escalated Tier 1 complex network incidents including routing loop, VPN disconnection, firewall policy conflict, high latency and abnormal traffic surge.

·       Configure, manage and optimize core network devices: switch, router, firewall, wireless AP and load balancer; handle VLAN, trunk, static route, OSPF, IPsec / SSL VPN deployment and tuning.

·       Review firewall access policy, perform security audit, eliminate redundant rules and enforce network access control standards.

·       Analyze network log, packet capture (Wireshark) and traffic report to identify root cause and provide long‑term optimization solutions.

3. Network Revamp & Project Implementation

·       Participate in enterprise network revamp, infrastructure upgrade, network migration.

·       Conduct pre‑implementation survey, configuration drafting, testing, cutover and post‑launch verification to ensure zero service disruption.

·       Update network documentation, topology diagram, standard operation procedure and change record after revamp and optimization.

·       Coordinate with ISP, vendors and internal IT teams for project scheduling, technical alignment, risk assessment and project delivery.

4. Change & Incident Management

·       Follow ITIL change control process for all network configuration changes, firmware upgrades and policy updates; prepare change plan and rollback plan.

·       Handle on-call rotation support for emergency network outage, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and deliver incident report.

Requirements:

·       Hold Higher Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines.

·       Hands-on experience in enterprise Tier1 & Tier2 network support and network revamp project.

·       Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing & switching, VPN and network security fundamentals.

·       Familiar with mainstream network devices: Cisco / Aruba

·       Good analytical skills, able to handle pressure during network outage and project cutover.
