Network Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of networking concepts, network infrastructure, troubleshooting, and security fundamentals. Freshers with relevant academic projects, internships, certifications, or hands-on lab experience in networking are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, performance, and configuration issues.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability to identify and resolve potential issues.
• Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
• Perform network diagnostics using tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup, Wireshark, and other monitoring tools.
• Configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, NAT, and routing protocols.
• Assist in configuring and maintaining network security controls, firewalls, access control lists, and VPNs.
• Support network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Document network configurations, topology diagrams, troubleshooting procedures, and technical changes.
• Work with IT teams and other stakeholders to resolve network-related incidents and service requests.
• Monitor network logs and alerts and escalate critical issues when required.
• Follow network security, backup, disaster recovery, and change management procedures.
• Participate in network capacity planning and identify opportunities for performance and reliability improvements.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including OSI Model, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VLAN, VPN, DNS, and DHCP.
• Knowledge of routing and switching concepts.
• Understanding of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, or RIP.
• Basic knowledge of network security concepts, firewalls, ACLs, NAT, and VPN technologies.
• Familiarity with Cisco or other networking equipment and network configuration.
• Ability to troubleshoot connectivity, routing, switching, and performance-related issues.
• Knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, IPv4, and IPv6.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Good understanding of network documentation and technical procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Good to Have (Not Mandatory)

• CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or other relevant networking certifications.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches.
• Exposure to firewalls such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Basic knowledge of Linux or Windows Server networking.
• Exposure to network automation using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with network monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of SD-WAN, SDN, or modern network infrastructure.
• Experience with virtualization and networking concepts in VMware or similar environments.
• Academic projects, internships, home labs, or hands-on networking projects are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or equivalent are a plus.
• Relevant academic projects, internship experience, or hands-on networking lab experience is preferred.
• Freshers with strong networking fundamentals and practical knowledge are encouraged to apply.

Pay: $94,100.00 - $150,000.00 per year
