Network Engineer III (Contract ? Project Based)

Title: Network Engineer III (L3)

Travel: Up to 50% as needed for client engagements, assessments, implementations, and critical project activities

Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Technical Leadership

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance on network architecture, modernization, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, network assessments, and solution design workshops.
• Develop and present recommendations, technical roadmaps, and implementation strategies to customer stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and project teams.

Solution Design & Implementation

Design, implement, and optimize enterprise networking solutions, including:

• Routing and Switching
• Wireless Networks
• SD-WAN
• Network Monitoring and Management Platforms
• Cloud Connectivity
• Data Center Networking

Network Security Integrations

• Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical network designs.
• Lead complex migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure modernization projects.
• Ensure solutions align with customer requirements, best practices, and security standards.

Project Delivery

• Lead assigned projects from planning through implementation and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects, and Delivery Teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, task management, and time reporting.
• Provide technical quality assurance and peer review of engineering deliverables.

Escalation & Advanced Troubleshooting

• Act as the highest-level technical escalation point for complex networking issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop sustainable remediation plans.
• Troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and hybrid-cloud networking environments.
• Work closely with technology partners and vendors to resolve critical issues.

Business & Practice Development

• Identify opportunities to improve customer environments and communicate recommendations to internal stakeholders.
• Support pre-sales activities as a technical subject matter expert when required.
• Stay current on emerging networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
• Contribute to standards, templates, documentation, and service improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Experience

• 7+ years of progressive network engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise networking solutions.
• Experience leading projects and working directly with customer stakeholders.
• Experience with multi-vendor networking environments.
