What they need
Network Security Engineer | Help secure the network behind AI | EU
Why this role
Every large model trained today depends on a network that never blinks. We are a fast-growing, publicly listed infrastructure company building the cloud that AI teams run on, and the network is where that promise is won or lost. You will join a team of engineers who own hard problems end to end, from GPU fabrics to the backbone that connects them, and you will be the person who makes sure that network is fast, resilient and secure by design.
The role
As a Network Security Engineer in the core network team, you will shape and run the security of data center fabrics, backbone links and corporate networks. You will take designs from idea to architecture review to production, working side by side with network architects, management and the Security team, and then operate what you ship. This is a hands-on seat: you will configure, test and troubleshoot firewalls and network devices yourself, and see the impact of your work in a platform used by AI builders worldwide.
What you will own
- Bringing Zero Trust principles to life across data center and corporate networks
- Segmentation (L3/L4, multi-VRF), access policies and secure remote access
- Deploying and validating protections at hyperscale, including IPS/NDR and DDoS mitigation
- Integrating next-generation firewalls with identity providers, and keeping management, automation and logging strong for the security organisation
- Application-aware inspection, user-based policy, ZTNA and SASE components
- Network observability and flow-analysis tooling
- Hardening, patching, upgrades and vulnerability follow-up across network and infrastructure devices, and proving that these controls work
Required qualifications
- Solid grasp of core protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, IPsec, HTTP(S) and dynamic routing
- Working knowledge of service provider and data center networking: EVPN, MPLS L3VPN, MP-BGP, L2VPN
- Real hands-on time with enterprise next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto, Check Point or comparable), including IPS, user-based policy and identity provider integration
- Scripting or automation skills in Python, Go or similar
- Comfortable on Linux/Unix and with multi-vendor networks (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba or similar)
Preferred qualifications
- IPv6 knowledge
- Ansible, Terraform, NetBox or Salt
- Experience with highly available, large-scale environments
- Micro-segmentation and Zero Trust design
- Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, PCNSE or NSE, and strong English
- Experience with centralised firewall management, SIEM/log analytics and EDR tools
- A plus: DevSecOps, cloud posture tooling, offensive security (OSCP/CPTS), or familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST and GDPR
Why you will like it here
Fast-moving, bold thinking and real ownership. Competitive pay, room to grow, an international team and the chance to work on infrastructure that shapes where AI goes next.
