Network Security and Infrastructure Administrator (VMware vSphere) - Only W2

Role: Network Security and Infrastructure Administrator (VMware vSphere) Location: Cary, NC (Onsite from Day 1) Job Type: W2 Contract Project Description We are seeking a Network Security and Infrastructure Administrator to support on-premises infrastructure operations and ensure systems remain available, secure, and operational for global teams. Focus includes deployment, maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, and operational support of on-premises systems.

General Position Overview The Network Security and Infrastructure Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the security and maintenance of the Client's data centre's network infrastructure. This includes deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of servers, network equipment, and specialized systems. Additionally, the Network Engineer will be required to have experience with VMware vSphere for virtual network management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network security measures to protect Lenovo's infrastructure
• Rack, cable, and deploy infrastructure components including servers, firewalls, and network equipment
• Perform hardware installation, upgrades, replacements, and troubleshooting
• Administer Windows/Linux systems including patching, updates, and configuration
• Support network configuration (IP addressing, VLANs, routing validation)
• Manage system access, permissions, and security controls
• Execute maintenance, backups, firmware updates, and system upgrades
• Troubleshoot across hardware, OS, and network layers
• Configure and administer VMware vSphere for virtual network management
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and system inventories

Requirements

• Proven experience in network security and network management
• Experience in datacenter or lab environments (racking, cabling, hardware deployment)
• Experience with enterprise servers and network equipment
• Experience administering Windows and/or Linux systems
• Ability to troubleshoot across multiple infrastructure layers
• Experience with secure or high-assurance environments
• Familiarity with cryptographic systems or specialized security hardware
• Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
• Experience supporting regulated environments
• Proficiency in VMware vSphere for virtual network administration
• Strong understanding of network security protocols and best practices
• Excellent English communication skills (B2 level)
• Solid knowledge of security-related concepts and technologies
