Network Security Engineer (w/m/d)

Our Offer

With a team of experienced colleagues, you are ensuring the maximum possible service availability and performance for DE-CIX’ Service Connect Platform. Located within the Engineering, the Network Security Engineers are responsible for managing and enhancing our global firewalling and VPN services whether cloud based or on-prem on our constantly growing services platform. Together with our Systems Engineers and Application teams you

ensure a smooth and robust integration of new services. You will be mainly responsible for:

• Participating in the development, planning, and implementation of a comprehensive security network architecture
• Designing and implementing strategies to prevent the lateral movement of threats within the network
• Evaluating and introducing new network security technologies and solutions
• Operating, monitoring, and continuously enhancing IT services with focus on network security
• Day-to-day network performance monitoring as well as improving our measurement methodologies
• Troubleshooting and fault analysis.
• The design and deployment of services either on-prem or cloud based
• Improving the constantly ongoing automation of our platform

This is important to us

• Strong networking skills (Ethernet, IP, Routing)
• Several years of experience in network security engineering and vendors (e.g. Fortinet, Checkpoint, Palo Alto)
• Ability to automate your work by using scripting or programming languages (e.g. bash, perl, python) and capable of prioritizing and managing own workload
• Experience in operations of network security in Cloud and Container based environments (e.g. Azure, K8s)
• Knowledge in monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix, ELK, Grafana)
• Able to analyze problems and conduct effective fault diagnosis and system recovery
• Keen to contribute ideas, share knowledge and help others develop
• Interest in leading edge technologies. Keen to develop own skills and knowledge
• Clear communicator (written and verbal)
