Network Security Engineer

AEBS is seeking a hands-on Cloudflare Security Engineer to support a major network security and cloud migration initiative. This contractor will help drive the migration of Secure Web Gateway and Zero Trust Network Access capabilities to Cloudflare, while also supporting Web Application Firewall implementation and related security operations.

The ideal candidate can own the work end to end, from solution design and migration planning through implementation, troubleshooting, documentation, and ongoing support.

What you’ll do:

• Design, implement, and support Cloudflare security capabilities across the environment.
• Lead or contribute to the migration of Secure Web Gateway functionality to Cloudflare.
• Migrate Zero Trust Network Access capabilities from Zscaler to Cloudflare.
• Configure, implement, and support Cloudflare Web Application Firewall capabilities.
• Assess existing configurations, identify migration dependencies, and develop practical implementation plans.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide hands-on operational support during and after migration activities.
• Partner with infrastructure, networking, security, and application teams to coordinate changes and resolve issues.
• Create clear technical documentation covering architecture, configurations, procedures, and transition activities.

What we’re looking for

• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting the Cloudflare security platform.
• Strong experience with Cloudflare Secure Web Gateway and related migration work.
• Experience implementing or migrating Zero Trust Network Access solutions, ideally from Zscaler to Cloudflare.
• Strong Cloudflare Web Application Firewall experience, including configuration, tuning, and support.
• Solid understanding of network security, web traffic flows, identity-aware access, and secure connectivity.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of a broad technical scope.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Engagement details

• Six-month contract with potential for extension.
• Best fit for an engineer who can provide full-scope ownership across Cloudflare migration and network security work.
