Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and technically competent

Network Support Engineer

to join our team. The successful candidate will be stationed at our customer's premises to provide day-to-day network infrastructure support, monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues and coordinate network maintenance activities.

This position is suitable for candidates with a good understanding of networking fundamentals who enjoy hands-on technical work and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Support and Administration

Provide daily technical support and administration of network equipment, including switches, routers and related infrastructure.

Monitor network equipment and connectivity to ensure smooth daily operations.

Maintain accurate network equipment inventory, asset records and technical documentation.

Handle, investigate and resolve network incidents, service requests and approved change requests.

Escalate complex network issues to the relevant technical teams when necessary.

2. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting

Monitor network performance and identify potential connectivity or performance issues.

Provide first-level troubleshooting and resolution of LAN, Wi-Fi and basic network connectivity issues affecting end users.

Perform initial diagnostics to identify network faults and assist in restoring services.

Coordinate with internal technical teams and external vendors for issue resolution.

Job Requirements

Diploma or Nitec/Higher Nitec in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering or a related discipline.

Preferably 1–3 years of relevant experience in network support, IT infrastructure support or a similar role.

Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VLAN, DNS and DHCP.

Basic knowledge of network equipment such as switches, routers and wireless access points.

Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and techniques.

Basic knowledge of structured network cabling and patching.

Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently at the customer's premises and collaborate effectively with other technical teams.

Responsible, proactive and service-oriented, with a willingness to learn.
