News/Content Editor

• Set and drive the editorial agenda, content calendar, and story priorities across all news and content platforms.
• Assign, edit, and approve stories, features, scripts, and online copy, ensuring accuracy, clarity, balance, and adherence to the house style.
• Supervise, mentor, and provide feedback to reporters, correspondents, and content contributors, setting clear deadlines and quality standards.
• Enforce rigorous fact-checking, sourcing, and verification processes to protect the credibility and reputation of the brand.
• Ensure all published content complies with media laws, broadcasting and regulatory codes, ethical standards, and defamation and copyright requirements.
• Monitor breaking news and trending topics, and make quick, sound editorial decisions on coverage, angles, and publishing priorities.
• Adapt and repurpose content for web, social media, video, and audio platforms in collaboration with the production and digital teams.
• Optimise content for search, audience engagement, and distribution, using analytics to refine editorial strategy.
• Develop and maintain the editorial style guide, content templates, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the newsroom.
• Coordinate with the Video, Podcast, Documentary, and Social Media teams to deliver integrated, multi-platform storytelling.
• Build and maintain relationships with news sources, industry experts, and external contributors.
• Prepare editorial performance reports and insights for the Head of Media and Executive Management.

Pay: ₦350,000.00 - ₦500,000.00 per month
