Now hiring: Class 1 Professional Driver (Newfoundland based)

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 Professional Driver for an immediate opening. We are a company from Sydney, Nova Scotia, and we are specifically looking for a driver from Newfoundland to run our established routes.

About the position:

• Compensation: Remuneration based on experience
• Home Weekly: Majority of drivers work scheduled routes
• Trailer type: Reefers

Requirements

• Minimum 25 years of age
• Ability to complete a Pre Access Drug and Alcohol Test
• Provide Criminal Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years of driving
• Must have Class 1 verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
• Ability to follow written and/or oral English instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or provincial/state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining legal Hours of Service and E-logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
