Night auditor / Host - fixed term

About the role

Working independently overnight as the sole team member on duty, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the lodge, delivering exceptional guest service and preparing the property for the day ahead. This is far more than a traditional Night Audit role.

Key responsibilities

• Welcoming late arriving guests and assisting with early departures
• Acting as the overnight Duty Manager
• Completing the nightly audit using the MEWS Property Management System
• Reconciling guest accounts and preparing daily management reports
• Conducting regular security patrols throughout the property
• Monitoring guest safety and responding professionally to overnight enquiries
• Preparing arrival amenities, guest information and reports for the following day
• Setting up breakfast service ready for the morning team
• Assisting with light housekeeping, laundry and presentation tasks during quieter periods
• Ensuring all public areas are immaculate and ready for the next day's operations

About you

• Previous experience in a hotel Night Audit, Front Office or Duty Manager position
• Experience using MEWS or a similar Property Management System
• Strong administrative, computer and reconciliation skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Outstanding communication and customer service skills
• The confidence to work independently and make sound decisions overnight
• A current New Zealand Duty Manager's Certificate (or the ability to obtain one) is an advantage
• The legal right to work in New Zealand
