Night Care Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support during overnight hours in a clients own home. This vital role ensures residents feel safe, comfortable, and well-cared-for throughout the night. As a Night Care Assistant, you will be the primary point of contact during your shift, offering assistance with their needs while maintaining a calm and reassuring presence. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help create a warm, secure atmosphere that promotes residents’ well-being and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety and well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or needs.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and comfort checks while respecting their privacy and dignity.
• Keep detailed records of conditions, care provided, and any incidents that occur during your shift.
• Support in maintaining routine, including medication reminders or assistance with bedtime routines.
• Conduct regular safety checks of the environment to identify potential hazards or maintenance issues.

Skills

• Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents, colleagues, and emergency services.
• Ability to follow care plans accurately and adapt to individual resident needs with sensitivity.
• Experience working in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
• Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating resident information electronically.
• Valid driving license is required
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to residential care environments.
• Excellent observational skills to monitor health status discreetly and effectively.
