Night Care Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support during overnight hours in a care home setting. This vital role involves ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents throughout the night. As a Night Care Assistant, you will play a key part in creating a calm, caring environment where residents feel secure and valued. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help maintain smooth operations during the night shift, making a positive difference in residents’ lives.

Duties

• Monitor residents’ safety and well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any needs or emergencies
• Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and comfort measures while respecting their dignity
• Follow care plans meticulously to deliver tailored support for each resident’s individual needs
• Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions, incidents, and nightly activities using IT systems
• Communicate effectively with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care
• Support residents with medication reminders or assistance as outlined in their care plans
• Ensure the environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming by conducting regular checks of communal areas and bedrooms

Experience

• Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills in English to interact clearly with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
• Basic IT skills for record keeping and updating care documentation efficiently
• Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting transportation needs or errands if required
• Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately

Bank holidays will be paid at time and one half but Christmas day is paid at double time.

Pay: From £12.80 per hour
