Night Custodian

Summary
Verona Schools seeks a dedicated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Night Custodian at F. N. Brown School. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires a commitment to keeping all areas of the school in excellent condition during the night shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners, ensuring proper disposal of waste.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring all fixtures are in working order and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including walkways, parking lots, and playgrounds, ensuring they are free of debris and hazards.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities as needed.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Collaborate with other custodial staff and school personnel to maintain a positive and productive working environment.
• Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects as needed.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment preferred.
• Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and visitors.
• Background check and clearance required prior to employment.
