Night /Day Care worker

Job Summary

Support older people with compassionate, person-centred care during day or night shifts. You’ll help residents maintain comfort, dignity and independence, adapting your approach to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, daily activities and safe mobility, including heavy lifting where appropriate and in line with safe practice.
• Support meal preparation and eating, and administer medication only when trained and authorised.
• Provide patient care for people living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or other complex needs; use calm behaviour management.
• Offer companionship and support in assisted living, nursing home, hospice or home care settings.
• Your impact: Attentive, respectful care helps residents feel safe and supported while giving families greater confidence in their loved one’s daily wellbeing.
• Follow care plans, observe changes and communicate concerns to the appropriate team member.

Requirements

• Caring, reliable approach and an interest in senior care and caregiving.
• First aid knowledge is useful; relevant nursing or patient-care experience is welcome.
• Assisted living, nursing home, Alzheimer’s, dementia, hospice or home care experience is beneficial, not essential.
• Driving experience may be useful depending on care needs.
• Childcare or behaviour management experience can be transferable.

Pay: £12.71-£12.80 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 – 48.0 per week
