Night Driver

Jacklin Steel Supply Co. is seeking a dedicated, full-time CDL-A Route Driver to support our operations in the Escanaba, Michigan area. Job Overview & Schedule

This is a full-time night-shift position operating five nights a week (typically Monday through Friday). You will operate a semi-tractor pulling flatbed trailers loaded with stock structural steel and miscellaneous fabricated steel items.

The standard weekly schedule consists of two distinct route rotations:

• Traverse City Route (3 Nights/Week - Tuesday, Thursday, Friday): Drive a semi-tractor and empty flatbed trailer from Escanaba to Traverse City, MI. Drop the empty trailer, hook up to a loaded flatbed trailer, and return to Escanaba.
• Engadine & Iron River Route (2 Nights/Week - Monday, Wednesday): Drive a semi-tractor and empty flatbed trailer from Escanaba to Engadine, MI. Drop the empty trailer and hook up to a loaded flatbed trailer. Deliver the loaded trailer to Iron River, MI, swap it for an empty trailer, and return to Escanaba.

Note: Alternate or additional days may occasionally be required to accommodate severe weather, mechanical issues, or holiday schedules.

Position Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
• Proven experience handling chained and tarped loads (flatbed operations).
• A minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience is preferred.

Compensation & Comprehensive Benefits

• Starting Pay: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
• Guaranteed Pay: 32 hours of pay guaranteed per week.

Note: This position would need to able to fill-in for the daily delivery driver when that person is on vacation or otherwise unavailable to work. When necessary, Jacklin would have our outside salesman ride along to help facilitate deliveries.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 48.0 per week
