Night Driver

About the role

Chantal Trading Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Night Driver to join our Road Transport team on a full-time basis. This role is based in Permas Jaya, Johor and is crucial to our logistics operations, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods during night-time hours. As a Night Driver, you will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This position plays a vital role in our supply chain, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and the overall success of our transport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently during night-time hours, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
• Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining accurate delivery records
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements
• Maintain a clean and organised vehicle interior, ensuring goods are properly secured and protected during transit
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding route progress, delays, and any issues encountered
• Adhere to working hour regulations and maintain accurate logbooks and documentation
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the proper handling of goods
• Build positive relationships with customers and stakeholders at delivery points
• Monitor fuel consumption and vehicle performance to contribute to cost efficiency

What we're looking for

• Valid heavy goods vehicle (HGV) or light goods vehicle (LGV) driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type you will operate
• Minimum 2-3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in road transport or logistics
• Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws
• Strong navigational skills and familiarity with local routes in Johor and surrounding areas
• Ability to work independently during night shifts whilst maintaining focus and alertness
• Excellent time management and reliability, with a proven track record of punctuality
• Good physical health and ability to remain alert during extended night driving
• Clear driving record with no serious traffic violations
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to undertake vehicle maintenance training and health and safety certifications as required
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and route requirements
