Night Manager

Holiday Inn is Auckland Airport's largest full-service hotels, offering 251 guest rooms, extensive conference facilities, resort-style grounds and the backing of IHG Hotels & Resorts.

We like to lead from the front. So, we're looking for a Night Manager to coordinate the management of the hotel's operational areas throughout the night shift, ensuring that hotel standards and procedures are maintained.  You’ll champion our ‘one team’ approach to make sure you and your team deal effectively and efficiently with all guest complaints, queries and suggestions

Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be:

• Leading the way – managing guest experiences, team performance and hotel operations
• Prioritising workload and ensuring your team deliver authentic, memorable experiences
• Reviewing all audits and reconciliation of daily sales transactions of Front Office and all Outlets, balancing electronic payments and transactions and reporting discrepancies to the relevant HODs
• Handling guest “bump” situations in a professional manner and ensure appropriate follow up is conducted to minimise inconvenience to our guests
• Ensuring that all Night Audit, Night Duty Manager and Night Porter shift duties are completed to the required standard to a timely manner
• Being the first point of contact for any critical emergency situations

What We need from you:

• Tertiary qualification in hospitality management or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience in similar role within a hotel setting
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English
• Other languages may be preferred
• Basic mathematics skills
• Excellent communication, problem solving, reasoning and motivational skills
• Long periods of standing in the front desk areas and occasional lifting of heavy items
• Working knowledge of hotel property management systems like Opera beneficial
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or public holidays
