Night Porter

Night Porter Wanted at Wildes

Do you come alive after dark?

Are you able to look at 80 chairs in the wrong place and think, “Well, this is my evening now”?

We’re looking for a Night Porter to look after the hotel while the rest of us are asleep. It’s a varied role: one minute you’re welcoming a late arrival, the next you’re finding a missing room key, resetting a wedding room or investigating a noise that turns out to be the ice machine having opinions.

What you’ll be doing:

Checking in guests who arrive at “we thought we’d be here hours ago” o’clock. Answering the phone and helping guests with late night requests.

Carrying out security checks and making sure the hotel is safe.

Setting up function rooms for weddings and events. Yes, all the chairs.

Keeping reception and public areas tidy and helping get breakfast ready.

Completing overnight reports and cashing up.

Dealing calmly with anything unexpected — because hotels have a remarkable talent for saving surprises until 3am.

You’ll need to be reliable, friendly and comfortable working overnight.

You should be able to follow event plans, move tables and chairs, solve problems and remain professional when someone asks where breakfast is while standing directly beneath the breakfast sign.
