Night Shift CDL Class B Dump Truck Driver

Job Summary

Mekhi LLC is seeking an experienced Night Shift CDL Class B Dump Truck Driver for part-time night work in the Kansas City area.

This position is ideal for an experienced dump truck driver looking for nighttime or supplemental hours. Work is construction-based and dispatch-dependent, so weekly hours may vary. Night shifts generally begin between approximately 6:40 PM and 8:00 PM and may run into the early morning hours.

This is not an entry-level CDL position or driver-training position. Applicants should already be comfortable operating a commercial dump truck safely and independently in active construction environments.

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour (Straight Pay)

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a tri-axle dump truck on night construction projects.
• Haul asphalt, millings, aggregate, dirt, rock, and other construction materials as dispatched.
• Safely maneuver within active construction zones, paving and milling operations, plants, dump sites, and other job locations.
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Follow all DOT requirements, job-site safety rules, and Mekhi LLC safety procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and use required electronic dispatch/timekeeping systems.
• Maintain communication regarding job status, delays, equipment concerns, or changes in dispatch.
• Immediately report mechanical or safety concerns and do not operate equipment that is unsafe to drive.
• Maintain a clean and professional truck cab.
• Submit required time and job documentation at the completion of each shift.
• Arrive on time and ready to work for all accepted shifts.

Qualifications & Expectations

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL.
• Current DOT medical card.
• Previous commercial dump truck experience strongly preferred.
• Construction hauling experience preferred; paving or milling experience is a plus.
• Must be comfortable working at night and around active heavy equipment.
• Must be able to safely back, position, load, haul, and dump without continuous supervision.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the Mekhi LLC truck lot in Kansas City, Missouri.
• Must be dependable. Because work is dispatch-based, drivers must communicate clearly regarding availability and honor shifts they accept.
• Must comply with DOT hours-of-service requirements and be properly rested and fit for duty before reporting for a shift.
• Must be able to pass all employment and driver qualification requirements applicable to the position.

Schedule

This is a part-time, night-shift position with variable hours based on construction schedules and customer demand. Drivers may be offered multiple shifts per week, but a set number of weekly hours is not guaranteed.

Occasional weekend night work may also be available.

This position may be a good fit for an experienced CDL driver seeking additional income outside of daytime employment, provided the driver’s existing work schedule does not interfere with safe and legal operation or availability for accepted Mekhi LLC shifts.
