Overview

The Mill Operator is a critical team member of the SMI family in ensuring the operation of the flour milling process and cleanliness of the mill buildings and premises.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

· Mill Operation

o Operate two flour mills

o Understand mill flow and milling process

o Inspect and troubleshoot end-product for quality attributes

· Maintenance

o Routine inspection

o Clean equipment, machinery and workstations

o Ensure adequate grease and oil levels of equipment

o Perform magnet checks to ensure operability

o Assist in stopping, starting and monitoring machinery and remove any blockages

· Shipping, Receiving and Packaging Responsibilities

o Assist in loading bagged and/or bulk finished product trailers and feed trailers

o Assist in operating flour bagging machine

· Cleaning

o Clean equipment, machinery and workspaces

o Maintain cleanliness of all interior and exterior areas of the facility

o Collect and dispose of waste regularly

· Documentation

o Document necessary records to meet essential requirements

o Ensure compliance with Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs)

· Support

o Uphold food safety requirements

o Adhere to company policies, operating procedures and OSHA procedures

o Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement of operations

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)
