Overnight Home Support Professional

We are hiring a reliable overnight support professional to work one-on-one with an adult with physical and developmental disabilities in his private home.

This is not a facility position. You will support one individual throughout your shift and be responsible for responding to his personal care, positioning, mobility, supervision, and nighttime needs.

This position is best suited for someone who is comfortable working independently overnight, stays alert without constant supervision, and understands that nighttime caregiving still requires active attention and hands-on care.

Tuesday Night: 10:30 PM–4:00 AMWednesday Night: 10:30 PM–4:00 AMThursday Night: 10:30 PM–4:00 AMFriday Night: 10:30 PM–4:00 AMSaturday Night: 9:00 PM–5:00 AMSunday Night: 9:00 PM–4:00 AM

Monday Night: OFF

37 scheduled hours each week

This is the regular schedule for the position. Applicants must be able to consistently work the listed nights, including weekends.

What Overnight Care Looks Like

The individual may sleep for portions of the shift, but the employee must remain awake, alert, and available throughout the entire night.

When the individual wakes or requires assistance, the employee is expected to respond promptly and provide the care he needs.

Duties may include:

• Checking on the individual and responding to his needs throughout the night
• Changing briefs and providing personal hygiene care
• Repositioning for comfort and safety
• Performing Hoyer lift transfers when required
• Providing hands-on mobility and positioning assistance
• Monitoring for seizure activity and aspiration concerns
• Providing supervision and appropriate interaction when the individual is awake
• Following established nighttime routines
• Completing care-related household responsibilities during appropriate downtime
• Keeping the individual’s immediate care area and equipment clean and organized
• Completing required shift documentation

Awake Overnight Position

Sleeping while on duty is not permitted.

Being awake means being available and attentive to the individual throughout the entire shift. Staff must be able to recognize when assistance is needed and respond without relying on someone else in the household to provide nighttime care.

Private Home & Quiet Environment

This position takes place in a private family home.

Overnight staff must be able to work quietly and respectfully so the household can maintain a normal nighttime environment while still ensuring the individual receives attentive care.

Hands-On Physical Care

This is not a companion-only or monitoring-only position.

The job requires hands-on physical assistance, including:

• Hoyer lift transfers
• Brief changes and personal care
• Repositioning
• Mobility assistance
• Bending and stooping
• Assisting with the individual’s physical needs throughout the shift

• Is comfortable learning and performing Hoyer lift transfers
• Can safely provide hands-on physical assistance
• Can follow established care instructions and routines
• Understands the importance of a quiet nighttime environment
• Can work independently while remaining accountable for the individual’s care
• Has reliable transportation
• Can consistently work the complete night schedule listed above

Previous professional or paid caregiving experience is preferred.

Paid training is provided.
