Night Shift Picker & Scale Operator

Buxton Butcher's are seeking Night Shift Scales Operators for an immediate start. Working full time on a permanent contract, 5 nights a week (shifts are Sunday-Thursday, or Monday to Friday) 8pm to 5am or 9pm - 6am.

Duties to include (but not limited to):

• Pick orders accurately and efficiently
• Ensure that all picked items are in good condition and meet quality standards
• Ensure stock is picked in date rotation
• Note any shortages for butchers to prep
• Maintain a clean and organised work area
• Follow all health and hygiene and food handling requirements
• Work as part of a team to ensure orders are processed quickly and efficiently
• Other ad-hoc jobs as required to help the butchers and scale operators
• Accurately weigh meat products over butchery scales
• Ensure labelling of products and customer packaging is correct
• Check dates and codes for products as they go across the scales
• Box or tray customer orders for drivers to load
• Move boxes & trays to driver storage fridges

Experience:

• Previous experience as scale operator, supermarket till operator, order picker or in a similar role is preferred but not essential
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking
• Good understanding of written and spoken English to ensure accurate picking
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects for extended periods of time
• Good time keeping
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

About the Job:

• Full time, permanent

• £13.69 per hour
